Meet Professor Keith
Professor Keith Bookman was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He grew up in the world of Martial Arts in his father’s dojo, where Tenzan Jiu Jitsu resides today.
As one of the top Black Belt competitors in the state of Washington, he’s had consistent success at high-level competition. Since 2013, he has medaled at major tournaments across the nation, including the American Nationals and the Master International Jiu Jitsu Championship of North America. He continues to actively compete side by side with his students.
Professor Keith received his black belt under Professor Alexandre Ferreira Santos in Austin, Texas (Gracie Barra South Austin). He later earned his First Degree Black Belt under Professor Carlos Sievert and Professor Rodrigo Lopes (Gracie Barra Bellevue/Seattle).
While being a dedicated competitor, Keith is equally passionate about teaching adults and children the fundamental and advanced skills of Jiu Jitsu and has helped many students achieve success in their own journeys.
With a balance of fitness, discipline, order, playfulness, and kindness, Professor Keith provides individualized coaching and encouragement, believing that every student has their own motivation and reason for training, and is committed to helping each one along their path.
